Overview
While Freelancing for Vividspark I was approached to create stunning eye catching social advertisements for First Call Heating • Air Conditioning • Plumbing's Facebook and Instagram pages.
Rational
For this specific advertisement First Call Heating • Air Conditioning • Plumbing wanted to show the companies mascots, Dave and Anna, searching for summer, since the Albertan summer in 2025 was apparently not so summery.
So for the illustration for this advertisement I chose to draw both Anna and Dave in thick winter jackets to convey the cold slushy weather they had been having in Alberta. Then I posed them in a way that made it so they are searching for summer, posing the gradient in the background deliberately so it looks like summer is leaving and the cold is coming.
Process
The process for creating this advertisement started off with me creating the illustration, making sure to keep the style and look of their previous mascot illustration so the advertisement is cohesive with previous advertisements. I took elements fromm previous mascot illustration, pasting them together till I got the desired pose, then I added the jackets, Daves new boots which I chose to model after Timberland boots, and the binoculars.
